The Resistance: Avalon is a thrilling social deduction game for 5 to 10 players, recommended for ages 13 and up, with a typical play time of 30 minutes. Combining medium-light complexity with deep psychological gameplay, it features prominent mechanics like hidden roles, voting, and teamwork as players attempt to identify traitors in their midst.
The Battle for Britain
In the legendary realm of King Arthur, the forces of Good and Evil clash to shape the future of civilisation. Arthur represents honour and prosperity, yet hidden among his loyal warriors are the unscrupulous minions of Mordred. These hidden agents are few but share mutual knowledge of one another. Only Merlin, Arthur's trusted wizard, knows the identities of these evil conspirators—but he must speak only in riddles, because if the minions discover who Merlin is, Good will be defeated.
How It Differs From The Original
While sharing core mechanics with its predecessor, The Resistance, this standalone instalment transports the gameplay from a dystopian sci-fi future to a mythical medieval setting. It introduces special roles with asymmetric information—such as Merlin and the Assassin—which fundamentally shifts the deduction dynamic. The Resistance: Avalon does not require the original game to play, yet both titles remain compatible and can be combined for even more customisable hidden-role sessions.
