In Kemet: Blood and Sand, 2 to 5 players command rival Egyptian tribes, deploying powerful armies and mythical beasts to claim victory. Designed for ages 14 and up, this medium-heavy strategy game plays in approximately 90 to 120 minutes and features action selection, area control, and card-driven hand management.
The Battle for Ancient Egypt
Players deploy the troops of an Egyptian tribe and call upon the mystical powers of the gods to score victory points. Points are earned through glorious victories in battle, controlling temples, developing towering pyramids, and sacrificing to the gods. The struggle is divided into two distinct phases: Day and Night. During the Day, players use their player mats to select from nine unique actions, carrying them out immediately to move troops, build pyramids, or acquire divine abilities. When Night falls, players gather Prayer Points, draw Divine Intervention cards, and determine the turn order for the cycle ahead.
Summon Mythical Beasts and Manage Combat
As the conflict intensifies, players spend Prayer Points to buy powerful tiles that grant unique faction abilities. Some of these tiles allow players to summon gigantic creatures that join troops on the battlefield to provide intimidating bonuses. Combat is highly tactical and completely devoid of dice; instead, battles are resolved using a diminishing hand of six cards, ensuring that planning and bluffs dictate the victor.
