About the Game

Tired of rummaging through loose cards before every game of Dominion? This official Folded Space insert keeps your entire collection organised, sorted and ready to hit the table, slashing setup and pack-down time. It's designed for Dominion, the classic deck-building game for 2–4 players that plays in around 30 minutes, suits ages 13+ and sits at a medium-light complexity, with deck building and hand management at its heart. The insert holds up to 1,100 sleeved or 1,850 unsleeved cards across trays arranged in up to three layers, with the rule books acting as a lid on top. Removable token trays go straight to the table during play, and the whole insert fits inside either the base game box or any of the large expansion boxes, with two layout options so you can prioritise token storage or game mats. Note: this is a storage accessory; the Dominion game is sold separately.

History

Dominion, designed by Donald X. Vaccarino and first published in 2008, popularised the deck-building genre and has grown through numerous expansions, making card storage a genuine challenge for collectors. Folded Space specialises in board game inserts built to keep components organised and speed up setup, and this insert is designed to accommodate Dominion in either the base game box or any of the large expansion boxes.

Rules of Folded Space Game Inserts - Dominion

  • Setup: each player shuffles a starting deck of 7 Coppers and 3 Estates and draws a hand of 5 cards.
  • Lay out the supply in the centre: the shared treasure, victory and curse piles, plus the 10 Kingdom card piles chosen for the game.
  • The insert's removable trays go straight to the table, keeping card piles sorted so setup and pack-down take only minutes.
  • On your turn, follow A-B-C: Action (play one action card), Buy (play treasures, then buy one card you can afford), Clean-up (discard everything and draw 5 fresh cards).
  • Action cards can grant extra actions, buys, cards or coins, letting you chain several plays in a single turn.
  • Cards you buy go to your discard pile and cycle into your deck later, gradually making it more powerful.
  • Objective: hold the most victory points from Estate, Duchy and Province cards when the game ends.
  • The game ends at the end of a turn in which the Province pile is empty or any three supply piles are empty; everyone then counts their points to determine the winner.

Strategy

  • Keep your deck lean: when a trashing card is in the Kingdom, removing weak starting Estates and Coppers makes your best cards appear more often.
  • Treasure is dependable — early Silver and Gold purchases rarely hurt and help you afford stronger cards sooner.
  • Limit terminal actions (cards that give no extra action); too many means drawing actions you can't play.
  • Pair cards that grant extra actions with cards that draw more cards to build turns that chain together.
  • Work towards reliably hitting 8 coins so you can buy Provinces, the largest source of points.
  • Avoid buying victory cards too early — they sit dead in your hand and slow your deck until the endgame nears.
  • Watch the supply piles: a game can end on three empty piles, so notice what your opponents are draining.
  • There's no single winning formula; read the Kingdom cards on offer each game and adapt your plan to them.
