Removable token trays, layered storage and room for the Hybrid Pack, Ice Age Pack and Water Pack expansions keep everything sorted for faster setup and play.

About the Game

A typical game of Dinosaur World has players drafting colourful DNA dice, hatching dinosaurs and laying hexagon enclosures to build the most exciting prehistoric park, then driving jeeps of visitors around their creations for points. It plays with 1–4 players in roughly 60–120 minutes, sits at medium-heavy complexity, is recommended for ages 10+, and features worker placement, tile placement and dice drafting.

Designed by Brian Lewis, David McGregor and Marissa Misura and published by Pandasaurus Games in 2021, Dinosaur World is the standalone follow-up to Dinosaur Island.

This product is not the game itself but the official Folded Space full-colour insert, with removable token trays, rule books acting as a lid, trays stacked in up to three layers, and space for the Hybrid Pack, Ice Age Pack and Water Pack expansions. It fits both the Kickstarter and retail editions.

History

Dinosaur World was designed by Brian Lewis, David McGregor and Marissa Misura and published by Pandasaurus Games in 2021 as the standalone follow-up to Dinosaur Island, reaching players through a Kickstarter campaign before a wider retail release. This Folded Space insert (FS-DWRLD) is a licensed storage accessory rather than a game, and is shaped to fit both the Kickstarter and retail editions of the box.

Rules of Folded Space Game Colour Inserts - Dinosaur World

  • This Folded Space insert organises Dinosaur World (the game itself is not included); the points below summarise that game, and the removable trays help speed up its setup and pack-down.
  • Setup: give each player a park board, a jeep, workers and starting coins, then set out the shared supply of DNA dice, hexagon enclosure tiles and dinosaur tokens.
  • Round structure: the game runs five rounds, each made up of a dice draft, a worker-action phase and a jeep tour.
  • Draft phase: roll the colourful DNA dice and take turns drafting them to gain DNA, coins and other resources.
  • Worker actions: place your workers on your own park board to lay hex enclosures, hatch dinosaurs by spending the DNA they require, and take support actions such as earning coins.
  • Jeep tour: drive your jeep through your park; visitors are excited by the dinosaurs they pass and score you points, while unexcited visitors earn you nothing.
  • Game end: after the fifth round's tour, total your points — the most exciting park wins.

Strategy

  • Plan roads and enclosures together so a single jeep drive can pass several dinosaurs; an efficient tour route matters more than a big park.
  • Hatch what your drafted DNA actually supports — a couple of affordable dinosaurs on the route usually beats saving everything for one showpiece.
  • Keep some coin income flowing so you can afford to build and hatch every round instead of stalling.
  • If a die face or action grants extra workers, taking one early tends to pay off across all five rounds.
  • Before each tour, check your park can excite every visitor who turns up; bored visitors are missed points.
  • Draft dice for what your current build plan needs rather than the flashiest face, and keep an eye on what opponents leave behind.
  • Avoid over-expanding: a compact park with a tight jeep route is easier to manage than a sprawling one you can't service.
