The election of the Aztec High Priest is imminent, and only the most dazzling feathered serpent will win the favour of the gods. In Cóatl, each turn offers a simple but satisfying choice: claim tiles from the central board, or spend your collection assembling a serpent — head, tail and twisting body — that fulfils your prophecy cards. As rivals snap up the pieces you need, timing becomes everything, and the race ends as soon as someone completes their third Cóatl.
Cóatl plays with 1–4 players in around 30–60 minutes. Its medium-light rules and recommended age of 10+ make it a welcoming family game with genuine tactical depth, built around tile drafting, pattern building and set collection.
Drawing on the feathered-serpent imagery of Aztec mythology, Cóatl pairs its vibrant theme with chunky plastic pieces, rewarding players who balance beauty, efficiency and objective scoring to claim the title of High Priest.
